Multiple Intelligence

NO ONE IS PERFECT
Jurnal Reflection
M. Iqbal Maulana
What I am going to write is now about the reflection of the LTM class. This session was lectured by Mrs. Sugi which talked about human’s multiple intelligences. Every human can’t do everything what they want, there must be something they are unable to do. For instance, Heri is a good English teacher. He can teach English by various methods and give the easy way to teach it to his student. However, when he is asked to teach Math, he quits. He even does not understand Math just for his own comprehension, moreover how he can teach it to his student. Another example is, Ayu Ting Ting is a very famous dangdut singer. She can sing very well with her good voice and attracting dance. On the other hands, she can’t drive a Motor GP. It shows us that actually human is unique. We cannot stereotype them just by a certain measurement. Each human was created completely by their abilities and infirmities. Even Prof. Habibi also has his own weakness. So that is why, we cannot ever and never call someone down just because of their particular disability.
As one of teacher candidates, I strongly agree that each of us must have knowledge about this knowledge. Why is this so? Teachers will deal with their students who come from many varieties of student. We have to know in which aspect each student belongs to. We cannot directly judge our students when they get red score for chemistry. They perhaps have their passion in other subject; either it is English, History, or computing. We cannot force them to do what we are asking them for. Our duty is just to introduce and direct them to the subject we want to teach. We are highly not allowed to insult them whatever the condition is. It will make their self esteem down. We have to be open-hearted teacher.

Finally, no one is perfect. Thank you

Human is the most Mysterious Creature (2nd Essay, Humanistic Studies)

Human is mysterious. Human has two sides of belonging, internal side, which refers to human’s feeling, heart, thought, and everything which is inside of human. The second one is external side, which refers to the human’s appearance, manner, behavior, the ability in the social interaction, and everything that can be seen from the human itself. These two sides are mysterious. We can not know how human is absolutely like. The phenomenon, which often happens is human can do kindly in front of our eyes, however they have exactly different meaning in their heart. For instant, robbers do kindly to their victim and after that they steal their victim’s stuff. See what I mean? Sometime when people do kindly to us, we can’t directly judge them that they are kind. No one knows after they are kind to us, they kill us then. We must be careful to assess how people are like, even when they are in the first place do annoying thing we are not supposed to judge them directly that they are bad. That’s human, full of mystery. We must be careful interacting with people, moreover to those we never know before.
In the second session of Humanistic Studies, we were asked to assess and analyse someone’s characteristics through their names. It happened there. We were trying to define our classmate’s names based on various aspects, backgrounds, and points of view. Some of us analysed those names from religion side, like those who had name “Muhammad, Ahmad, Christian, Marry”, and so on. Those names refer to the religion identity. Some of us also tried to analyze the names from the time when they were born. For instant, for those who were born in october their names would be okta or who were born in April then their name become April. There was also who was born in the Lebaran day, then  her name become Fitri (ofcourse woman). Then we tried to see something hidden behind those names. The names which were given to us by our parents ofcourse had purposes, and hopes. Then we tried to prove either the names given to us were the same to the purposes of our parents.
My name is Muhammad Iqbal Maulana, people always call me Iqbal, no other nick names for sure. Even if this name spreads up in each part of the world (many people have this name), I am very proud of having this name. My parents gave this name with aim that I would become Muhammad follower who is closer to my God and being respected by many people (translation of M.Iqbal Maulana, my name). I have no regret with my name, thanks my mom and dad.
I am a very hard person. I almost lose my smoothness. I was educated to be hardworker with no word “give up” by my parent. No word “spoiled” for me. Only challenges, violence, and risks which come to me. I never give up to reach all my dreams and I will not make other people difficult just because of me, even my parents. All my school aids are completed by me since I was in Senior High School till now. I study and work to survive. I like becoming independent, then no one will limit me to do everything I like, and to increase my career.
With Basmalah, I symbolyze myself with

E-Reflection of PETA 2nd

E-Reflection of PETA (Principle of Effective Teaching and Assessment)

Well..,,
On this page I am going to share you all as to my second reflection of PETA (Principle of Effective Teaching and Assessment) lectured by Mrs. Ine.
Very grateful, we are as teacher candidates are given this course which aims to be teachers who will be different from Indonesian previous teachers and becoming the agent of change for future educators. Teacher will take apart in developing human’s resources very much. Teacher will grow students’ characteristic, mentality, and motivation to face the globalization in the 21st century. To make it true, so teachers are highly recommended to have this subject to be one of the main skills which must be owned by professional teachers.
In this 2nd session of the course, we were given the video of teaching and learning process in “Thematic Subject” for elementary school. Thematic is the new subject for the beginner grade of elementary school which focuses on integrated course. Integrated? It means that in one course, there will be some science discipline included. For example one subject can be linked to social, science, math, or even religious study. On the video, we watched the teacher taught her students this thematic subject. The teacher for me is included to the one of good teachers. She started the class by praying, and then told the objectives of this course. Telling the objectives of the course to the students is the good way of starting the class which aims to make students know what is going to study and what is going to achieve after the course.
Another good thing from her teaching was that she invited the students to the real object of the lesson. Stated on the video, that the teacher discussed about Rambutan then she went to the Rambutan tree with her students to see the real object of Rambutan. That was very good I think.
The last thing, mrs. Ine gave us the material about lesson plan and asked us to make short lesson plan. It was horrible for me because it was still strange for me. I hope next session I can understand how to make better lesson plan.

Thank you

JURNAL 2, TLL.. (how digital world affects human's life)

Life is now confusing. When we are asked by our friend “do you have Fb account?” then we answer No, be ready they will laugh as loud as possible in front of us. Why is this so? Right now everything is online. Everything builds their houses in the internet. We can find everything in the Internet, search everything, and everything that even we never know before. People who seldom touch internet will be right now labeled by Cupu or something like that vexing word. This phenomenon commonly happens surround us, it is because internet can be accessed everywhere and anywhere now on. Today’s mobile phone is already sophisticated and completed by internet browser that can be used to connect to the internet connection.
You know, now on internet has changed human’s life, from far to be close, from imagination to be, reality, from difficult to be easy. Mostly internet helps us do everything we are fond of. However, it somehow makes “social inequality”. Why is this so? People who actively involve themselves to the internet society tend to call those people who never get used to the internet down. They feel being active in the internet is as if they have much money then they consider another people are poor. The real case, many students who study in the “school-standard high” will tend to insult their friend who studies in the “standard school”, because of what? It is mostly because of the different facilities provided. Students in the high standard school often share story about their school facilities to their friend who studies in the standard school. Then, students in the standard school will feel that their self esteem decreased. They feel that they are not modern as their friends like. They feel that they are not in the same level with them. Then “social inequality” happens.
Today is also called by digital era. We can create everything just by one tool, “COMPUTER”. Designing something, counting something, drawing something, typing something, just can be done by this tool. When the type-writer still existed, people would be very complicated. When they typed something, then some words were miss-typed, they had to retype it from the very beginning. However, since the computer exists, everything is easy. We can save our worksheet though it is not done yet, then we can continue it later. We can insert picture, drawing, painting, and change the word colors as what we like.
We must be grateful for sure due to this. But we must keep our manner. Don’t ever we forget where we are coming from! Technology is made to help us do our business, not to make business for help.

Humanistic Studies Theme: Expectation towards the Subject, and How We Respond to Others

What I am going to write on the first is the word “awesome”. I will be very grateful to my God, because the curriculum from the government who obliges each High Institution to have this subject, and need it or not we have to master this subject. “Humanistic”, the word which is still strange in my ear since this subject is never learned by me before. When we little bit analyze the word humanistic, it actually comes from the word “human” which refers to God’s creature called people. Since this subject is the new subject for me, and the class just started last week, so I bet that this course will discuss about human, people, society, and how we interact with them.
Above is just my little bit prediction about where this subject is running at. What I am going to write next is about my expectation of joining this course, because when we join something, when we do something, there will be of course hope, and wish from what we have already conducted. I first hope by joining this course, I can obtain knowledge about human in the society. We all know that human is the social creature who cannot conduct their life alone. So that is why there is some ways which will be used by human to make their interaction towards someone others run well and no harm. You know that each creature has their own characteristic and no one exactly has the same. Start from different skin color, name, hair color, job, religion, and so on. So everyone is different.  I think this subject will answer what is being questioned in my thought about on how we interact with those different particular people. Interacting with someone others who is different from us is not a thing in a piece of cake. So we are highly recommended to have this course. As a teacher candidate, we will deal with varieties of students in the class. So to deal with it, we can get more knowledge from this course.
Responding and respecting others are the basic knowledge which must be owned by human as social creature to deal with the diversities which are brought by each person surrounding us. For instants, Rina is a Muslim and Rani is a Buddhist. Of course they have different way in praying to their own God, they have different place to go praying. It is just the simplest example of the phenomenon in the real life. When rina is going to mosque then Rani must respect her and not doing something disturbs her, and vice versa. Still more things to discuss about this issue, but it will be discussed more then in the next meeting.
